Imperfect progress and Spring Break

A huge game of catch up and a photo bomb....Enjoy.

Coastal living has it's benefits. These are a couple of them...

Ballerina's do it better,just saying.

Carys can always make me smile. My sweet deep thinker.

33 years young. This birthday was epic and memorable.

My birthday weekend was the most memorable by far.A private wine tour at Pariaso Winery kicked this magical weekend off.

Desiring a healthy dose of reality? This book is ready to serve that, mixed with tenderness.

Trampoline fun.Crazy Static included.

These girls kill it in the style department.Nothing is off limits,as you can see.

Chapel & leg warmers for Mighty Memorizer,we do think so.Bay Shaye, always marching to the beat of her own drum.

I will always be a fighter. But fighting now for more important things is my mission.Changing the definition not the word and owning it.

A love for reading never hurt anyone. And her parasol was a presh accessory.

Adventures with Grama Bernice are always priceless. We headed to Morro Bay together and channeled our inner pirates.

Hitting milestones over here.Bay reading her first chapter book.Doesn't she look so cute?

Hi,my name is Mom and I iron my daughter's underwear in the morning.Shameful I know, ask me if I really care.

Staying committed to my personal goals this year.Training and staying focused. And having fun at the same time.

Carys Marie, heart of a servant.Such an incredible example of generosity.I have a lot to learn from this little person.

I know what you are thinking....that's deep right? Well, have ever had a Samoa?

Sometimes the magnitude of my love for these two little people is overwhelming and I am left speechless and in awe.And what a moment to rest in that is.

Toothless in Monterey.

Bay is conquering crazy things these days. Determined and focused and no training wheels, craziness going on here.

I told the girls they could put their fake tattoos on anywhere but their face. This is where they chose. I am officially scared.to.death.

Spring Break kick off.Breakfast in bed always starts the day/vacation out right. Sprinkle Break waffles anyone?

The country never hurt anyone and nurtures curiosity like no other.

Summer looks like {This} so far...

From Tuesday afternoons at Farmer's Market and the yummy fresh goodies it brings...

To planting our first summer garden, hand built raised planters {Thank you Papa Brad} & backyard camping...The.Best.Summer.Tradition.Yet.

Celebrating my little sissy's 22nd Birthday.Oh to be that Young & Fun again! I considered it a bonus I was still seemly "cool" enough to be invited to her party though.

Splashing around the water park, suggested by one of my favorite people in the world,My Grama Bernice!Beautiful Day in Paso and spending time with all these beautiful ladies makes my heart melt.

Building Bears at Build-A-Bear.Getting all fancy!

To just enjoying where we live. This coast is breathtaking.

Getting some Vitamin D and getting our fitness on.Hello Sunshine!

For the Love of Golf.Sam was in Daddy Heaven that afternoon.

These two girls have no idea how good they have it.This summer has been all about them(well mostly) and to Momma Zo's surprise....It's been one of my favorite summers for it.With one more month of summer left, we will make it fly with more adventures and fun.Funny though, at this point I know us mom's are eagerly gazing at that impending School Calender and starting our own count down of "Just when the heck does school start again"?But this summer has been so different. And I plan on dragging my feet til the end.
Happy Summer!

Sh*t my girls say...And Do for that matter!

Sunday night while Carys was Google Sky Mapping on my phone she shouted
"Oh my gosh Mom,look it's the whole "Uterus"!
She obviously meant "Universe" but I still lost my ish right there.

Sleeping in until 11:00 undisturbed, awesome!Having a homemade chai tea and toasted bread with Nutella, even better.Reaching into the Brand New Nutella jar and realizing one of my girls ate half of the jar before I even woke up.....priceless.Yup,true story.

BaylieShaye keeps singing LMFAO Party Rock but all she remembers of the lyrics is "Everyday I'm shufflin".One of Carys' friends heard Bay singing and asked What's shuffling? Bay steps aside and proceeds to show her a Tap Shuffle! Whatever works.

While at the Carmel River, the girls were hunting for crawdad's.If you aren't familiar, they are little lobster like creatures that roam these parts,in our local rivers. In fact, the girls call them lobsters because crawdad makes no sense to them.I kinda see their point. They are yummy too,if you enjoy that sort of thing.Anyway, the girls thought they had finally found a LIVE one.Bay starts freaking out and says in hysterics,"It's alive,it's alive and not braindead"! Really, and how would you know if it WAS brain dead anyway, just curious kid?

And these Barbies show up,saved in my photo's,on my IPad every.single.day.And these 3 were styled by you know who...Oh Bay Shaye, there are no words, only laughter.Which you bring so well.

Be Courgeous

Dear Carys,
As you end this school year, I want you to carry a few words of encouragement in your heart from mine.
Be kind.Even when it's not easy or does not seemly come naturally. You can change no one.But your ability to change others by your kindness will reward you more than you realize.
Listen more and talk less. This may prove harder at times than you think. But there is a reason we have 2 ears and one mouth.Sometimes people just want us to listen. And that can be more important than any word of encouragement we think might help in the moment.
Be strong.Your faith in GOD will be tested. You may think He has left you,but this is NEVER true.Don't ever believe that.He may be the quiet whisper in your heart. He is there. He is real.Just listen in the stillness.I promise you He hears the your sweet call.
Be loving. This means you may need to love those who will never love you back. This might make you feel broken.I will be there to hold you through your brokenness. But never let it make you feel bitter.Rise above and hold that sweet head of yours high. And know who you were created to be.In the image of Christ.
Be forgiving.Forgive quickly.Forgive easily.Forgive often.Because this will only create more love in your heart. It will grow your soul in ways you can never describe.
Be generous with your time.Give freely what you have to others.Find ways to help someone every single day. This will fill your heart with true joy.
Be thoughtful.I know it's easy to think about yourself sometimes, especially when life is pressing in on you from all sides. You feel defeated. But hold onto the thoughtful
Heart you have for others.
Learn to not sweat the small stuff.Because when you grow up,you will have plenty of really, really,BIG STUFF to handle.Enjoy your childhood and all that it has for you.The playground, warm days and ice cream.Your first crush and your best friend.Your favorite movie and your favorite pair of flips flops.
And always know, your soft place, your home is here with me.You make me so proud and humbled as your momma.

I love her

This morning she came into my room,
Snuggled up close,
Clasped her hands around my face,
And whispered...
I just love you so much.
This was huge.
Because Bay doesn't enjoy
Mornings like her older sister.
She doesn't speak to me or
Anyone for that matter.
For at least the first
30 minutes or so.
It's kinda funny.
She..
Then closed her eyes,
And while falling back
To sleep, she gently
Tickles my arm.
I love her.
So
Very
Much.
(side note: We both slept until 10:30 a.m.)
Nice.....
